Saint Augustine’s College (Augusco) and Wesley Girls High School last Friday emerged the winners of the respective boys and girls titles at the 2017 Central Regional Super Zonal Athletics Championship held at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Augusco continued their dominance of the two-day Cowbell Ghana Limited sponsored event by amassing 140 points and improving their all-time record to 12 titles at the 27th edition of the Championship.
They beat rivals Adisadel College who finished second with 109 points and Swedru School of Business (SWESBU) finished third with 85 points.
The best athlete of the boys contest was Kissward S. Edem of Aggrey Memorial who won the Long Jump, finished third in the 110 metres hurdles and set a Championship record in the 400 metres hurdles.

In the girls contest, Wesley Girls were peerless scoring twice the number of points of their closest challengers Obrachire Senior High School.
Wesley Girls were powered to their feat by the overall Girls Best Athlete, Augusta Kwateng who set two records in winning the 200 metres and 400 metres races and equalled another record in the 100 metres.
Wesley Girls were comfortable winners with 145 points followed by second placed Ostech on 70 points and Mfantsiman SHS in third place (57 points).
